We create virtual worlds with digital stories since 2006. 3Bohemians is an animation production company working on projects from the first idea to the final detail.

We also love sharing knowledge and that’s why we developed a top notch program called ANOMALIA where we provide professional training from storytelling to 3D character animation.

We finish projects

We do not miss deadlines, because we plan well ahead and solve problems in advance. We plan carefully and thoroughly to deliver on time and within budget.

Our work process

Developing and producing animated films might not be rocket science but there is a procedure that needs to be followed in every project.

We never shoot from the hip, our aim is always clear. You can make a great production for a small amount of money if you spend your time, effort and love where they’re most needed. But you need to plan.

The Idea

Developing and producing animated films might not be rocket science but there is a procedure that needs to be followed in every project.

Brainstorming

In this phase, you and your team (if applicable) explore various ways to bring your idea to life. This can include discussions on the visual style, narrative structure, characters, and key messages. Brainstorming is a collaborative and creative process that should encourage free-flowing ideas and open-mindedness. Tools like mind maps, mood boards, and storyboards can be helpful here.

Mockups

Once you have a clearer vision of your project, creating mockups is the next step. Mockups are preliminary sketches or models that give you a rough idea of the visual and structural layout of your animation. This step is crucial for visualizing scene transitions, character designs, and overall pacing. It’s about getting a sense of the look and feel of the final product without delving into detailed designs.

Artworks

Here, you transform your mockups into detailed artworks. This involves finalizing the design of characters, backgrounds, and any other visual elements in your animation. The artwork phase requires attention to detail, as you’re creating the visual assets that will be used directly in the animation. Depending on the style and complexity of your project, this may involve digital painting, 3D modeling, or traditional illustration techniques.

Animation

With all your visual assets ready, it’s time to bring them to life through animation. This phase involves the actual process of animating your characters and elements according to your storyboard or script. Key activities include timing your animations to match voice-overs or music, creating smooth transitions between scenes, and ensuring that movements are natural and expressive. This step can be labor-intensive and requires a deep understanding of animation principles.

Tuning

After the initial animation is complete, tuning is all about refinement and adjustments. This step involves editing for pacing, ensuring the audio (voice-overs, sound effects, music) is perfectly synced with the visual elements, and making any necessary corrections to the animation. It’s also a time for adding final touches, like color correction or special effects, to enhance the overall quality of the video.

We have a real brick studio in Prague, close to the city centre, which serves as our workspace for the internal team. The team size depends on a particular project, we cooperate with a large number of externists.

In total, there are 40+ animation artists in our network.

We work with artists from all over Europe. We know our guns well, most of them are recruited from our own professional training community, called Anomalia. Our online network and production tools allow us to work either in person or online.

We believe this the be the most advanced modus operandi in animation production. Our artists share their skills, experience and passion for animation, which makes it easier to deliver the expected quality and enjoy the work at the same time.
